Using a Q Switch Laser, the high-powered light hits your skin at a billionth of a second, smashing the ink into tiny particles. The smashed ink is then removed by your macrophages through your lymphatic system. This system is the best and safest way to permanently remove tattoos. The ink is removed Layer by Layer, provide a safe, effective and most importantly Scar Free result.

The lasering itself is very fast and can take less than 1 minute for a small tattoo to up to 30 minutes for a very large tattoo. The process needs to be repeated every 6-8 weeks. Most tattoos require an average of 8-12 treatments to remove.

Try the international Tattoo Removal Scale to estimate the number of treatments your tattoo need to totally remove : Kirby-Desai Scale Calculator each point represents 1 treatment.

Laser Tattoo Removal can hurt more than getting a Tattoo, but it’s much quicker. Your safety, comfort and satisfaction is our highest priority. Most people think it’s on par with getting a tattoo because it’s very quick, but in fact it may hurt more. The pain stops as soon as the laser stops. The sensation is similar to that of being flicked with a hot elastic band.

Afterward it can feel like a mild sunburn for up to an hour. To minimize the pain, you may apply numbing cream (which needs to be pre purchased and applied as per instructions) prior to your treatment. Numbing cream only takes the edge off the laser, making it feel more like getting a tattoo.

We ask you to arrive on time, if you are more than 10 minutes early you may need to wait outside. You will have some personal and basic medical history forms to fill out and read and sign a waiver.

Your experienced Laser Therapist will explain the process, after care and answer any questions you may have. You will receive a take home information pack on your first consultation or treatment.

When booking your first consultation you have the opportunity to change your mind or not get a full treatment during your first treatment session. There is no pressure as we want you to feel comfortable with your choice.

We ask that you don’t bring children to the appointment as unforeseen circumstances can occur. You may bring a friend or older child over the age of 15 to your appointments.

After your treatment we cover the area with a dressing and Bepanthen. This acts as an antibacterial moisturiser for the first 3-5 days.

Once your tattoo starts to dry we recommend any of the following to use in between treatments:

  • Paw Paw Cream
  • Coconut Oil
  • EDIT Laser’s Hemp and Calendula balm.

It is very important to keep your tattoo out of the SUN! Direct sunlight on your tattoo can toughen your skin, heighten the risk of scarring and cause pigment and textural changes to your skin which can make your tattoo graded and more difficult to remove.

There is a slight risk of scarring and infection. This is extremely rare, especially if all aftercare is followed correctly.

If you are deemed at higher risk your technician will discuss additional aftercare requirements with you, and longer times between treatments are also ideal.
A new Study https://www.thelancet.com/journals/eclinm/article/PIIS2589-5370(24)00228-1/fulltext has found increased cancer risks with tattoos, it is very new and further investigation is needed. I encourage you to read to have some understanding of the risks associated. In my 12 years of tattoo removal, I have not known a client to have Lymphoma. I have known 1 tattooist to be diagnosed.
